Friday Feature: Daughters of Simone

There are moments during wedding planning that simply take your breath away. One of them being the moment you  find “the dress.”  We were certainly short of breath when we stumbled across these super cute, but slightly unconventional wedding dresses.

Now that you’ve secured a man, and got a ring on that finger, it’s time to find a dress that is the perfect match too! With these vintage-inspired dresses designed by Daughters of Simone, you really can’t go wrong. Finally a designer taking our favorite fashion blasts from the past (60s & 70s!!) and translating those trends into wearable bridal attire.  The San Francisco based company designs wedding dresses that have a modern bohemian vibe, but are as timeless and treasurable as a family heirloom. This is one dress your daughter wouldn’t be embarrassed to later inherit!

Above are some of the latest designs from their 2014 collection, aptly called “Ritual Woman” (Hello Heart & Stevie Nicks!!). Our fave dresses include: Lu, Caterina, Dylan, and Cleo. Each dress is designed for a different type of woman in mind; from classic, to indie, rock n roll, country, or hippie, they all are unique. Be sure to check out their website for even more  wedding, and reception dresses. They are also stocked up on the best real vintage dresses a girl can find!

Are Tiaras the New Flower Crowns?

We’ve been seeing a new crop of dainty and darling tiaras taking place atop heads in high fashion wedding editorials and we want to know what you think of the trend. Would you rock a bejeweled crown or a tiny tiara to add a whimsical touch to your wedding look? We personally love the unique element it adds (there’s a tiara out there for all personalities!) and have rounded up our favorite crowning moments to draw inspiration from…

Friday Feature: Inbal Dror

Looking back through old family wedding photos, you can definitely say that weddings have evolved over time. Some may argue that they are more of a big production nowadays, while others might rebut that they have become more of a casual affair with less traditional styles of tying the knot becoming increasingly popular. No matter which way you look at it, think we can all agree that the dress is still a big deal. So big of a deal in fact, that we’ve recently became enthralled with the over- the- top glamorous designs of Israeli dress designer, Inbal Dror. Even if you’re not normally a fan of show-stopper gowns or long princess trains, these dresses will tug at your inner tiara wearer.

Bridal Floral Wreath’s

Yes ladies, that’s right, flowers are no longer just for the bouquet and the tables you can also wear them! Although we do agree that you and your dress are the show stopper of the day, we absolutely love when our brides want to add a little more flair to their attire. You all know us, we would put flowers on anything and everything if we could. We have pulled together some of our absolute favorite floral wreaths that we would just die to adorn on top of our heads and we hope you feel the same. AMBER_DAVID_FORMALS__ciara richardson_photography_lifestyle_wedding_utah_220

Monday Morning Mix: Autumn Sweater

Happy November Beaus! We’re so excited about the crisp weather and reemergence of sweaters and boots into our daily wardrobe, that we just had to dedicate a Monday Morning Mix to one of our favorite seasons! Hope you love this inspiration board chock full of Fall hues. Would love to see some bridesmaids rock burnt orange– wouldn’t you!?

What to Wear to a Fall Wedding: Under $100 Dress Challenge

Getting dressed  on any given day is already a pretty lengthy task if you’re anything like us.  Always trying to judge the weather for the rest of the day, deciding jeans or skirt, heels or flats, and the decision making is endless. So you can imagine our state of panic when attending a wedding (yes, sometimes we are guests too!) or a fabulous event. Here in Southern California we have just as many weddings in the Fall as we do in the Spring & Summer months and wanted to help make the task of pulling together the perfect outfit for an Autumn fete a little easier. We made sure none of the stylish dresses we pulled were over a $100 ( sometimes it’s nice to splurge on shoes, right!?) and used our favorite online retailers so your whole outfit is just a click away!

Finds from Modcloth: Evergreen looks youthful when accented with gold and palest coral-also a nice transition from Summer. Just top with a chic coat for outside receptions and you’re out the door!

Okay, we lied a little! Everything indeed is from Modcloth above, with the tiny exception of the super cute cuff which is from Forever 21!

Finds from Asos: For all out glam, always go with gold. Accessorize with eclectic accessories (chunky bracelets, whimsical head piece) to keep the look fresh and a nude bag to balance out the dark accents of the dress.

Finds from Zara: Cranberry, wine, and oxblood colors are everywhere this fall! Wear one of these deep red dresses and bring on the drama with high fashion add-ons (statement necklace, studded shoes, fringe adorned clutch)!

Finds from Forever 21: Love a look that works for all seasons. This deep ocean colored dress accented with more Spring-time shades (nude, blush, and rose gold) is the perfect balance for an early Fall wedding!

Finds from Ruche: Tend to lean toward the shorter dresses, can get the full range of dance moves going that way, but sometimes a Maxi is just more appropriate. Love this grape colored get-up turned edgy with wedges and mixed bangles!

High Fashion Inspiration: Anna Sui

Happy Wednesday Beaus! Today we’re serving you up some more designer inspiration for weddings & parties! This week it’s all about  mix-master Anna Sui. Just like Anna’s aesthetic, be daring with how you style your party and use glossy black accents everywhere you can. Black & white stripes and mixed patterns pair perfectly to achieve the eclectic, yet pulled together touch; very reminiscent of the looks always shown on her runway shows. Taking a cue from the designer’s branding, go Art Nouveau with your paper goods and use decorative touches and borders on your invites and escort cards. If you really wanna be a showstopping hostess, string these awesome diamond lights above the dining table to awe your guests. Bright flowers and macaroons add a pop of color & fun! The Sui girl is all about having a good time….
