The Big Day: Erin & Blair

We are headed out the door for a fun-filled wedding weekend at our most favorite of places…Ace Hotel Palm Springs!! Knew that it was meant to be with this couple when they listed donuts and margaritas as must-haves! Expect to see lots of those as well as some rockin’ mid century furniture, a pennant flag (or 200), and sequins!!

We have loved every single second of planning & designing with Erin & Blair and can’t believe it is all coming together tomorrow on the big day. We feel even luckier that some of the absolute best gals around are contributing their talents to this hip soiree as well, Brightly Designed & Root 75!!  Cherry on the tippy top of this ice cream sundae is that Kimberly Geneieve Photography will be in the desert with us to too to capture all of the fun. Seriously check out her website!

Non-traditional bouquets

As you know we have a not so secret obsession with all things flowers, one of our favorite floral elements is the bridal bouquet and how it finishes off any brides ensemble.  Although we are completely in love with bouquets that are made up of your  peonies, dahlia’s, and roses. We also love when brides go for a non-traditional bouquet, just like some of these bouquets we have included with some unexpected flower choices…

What do you think of non-traditional bouquets? Do you have any unique flowers you want to include in your bouquet?

What to Wear to a Fall Wedding: Under $100 Dress Challenge

Getting dressed  on any given day is already a pretty lengthy task if you’re anything like us.  Always trying to judge the weather for the rest of the day, deciding jeans or skirt, heels or flats, and the decision making is endless. So you can imagine our state of panic when attending a wedding (yes, sometimes we are guests too!) or a fabulous event. Here in Southern California we have just as many weddings in the Fall as we do in the Spring & Summer months and wanted to help make the task of pulling together the perfect outfit for an Autumn fete a little easier. We made sure none of the stylish dresses we pulled were over a $100 ( sometimes it’s nice to splurge on shoes, right!?) and used our favorite online retailers so your whole outfit is just a click away!

Finds from Modcloth: Evergreen looks youthful when accented with gold and palest coral-also a nice transition from Summer. Just top with a chic coat for outside receptions and you’re out the door!

Okay, we lied a little! Everything indeed is from Modcloth above, with the tiny exception of the super cute cuff which is from Forever 21!

Finds from Asos: For all out glam, always go with gold. Accessorize with eclectic accessories (chunky bracelets, whimsical head piece) to keep the look fresh and a nude bag to balance out the dark accents of the dress.

Finds from Zara: Cranberry, wine, and oxblood colors are everywhere this fall! Wear one of these deep red dresses and bring on the drama with high fashion add-ons (statement necklace, studded shoes, fringe adorned clutch)!

Finds from Forever 21: Love a look that works for all seasons. This deep ocean colored dress accented with more Spring-time shades (nude, blush, and rose gold) is the perfect balance for an early Fall wedding!

Finds from Ruche: Tend to lean toward the shorter dresses, can get the full range of dance moves going that way, but sometimes a Maxi is just more appropriate. Love this grape colored get-up turned edgy with wedges and mixed bangles!

Do you have any great go to online shops for fabulous dresses!? Do leave us a comment and share!

High Fashion Inspiration: Christian Louboutin

How could we not have a high fashion inspiration during one of the most sacred times in the wonderful world of fashion, New york city Fashion week. We have been keeping a close eye on all of the stunning 2013 collections that have been gracing the runways in New york and have been loving every bit of what we have seen. But our true designer sole mate is this week’s high fashion inspiration; Christian Louboutin. The French shoe creator, Louboutin has made his mark on the fashion world with his signature “Sammy red sole” and sky high sex kitten heels. Combining that sexy sleek style and the bold energy of the louboutin signature red, we have created one red hot wedding…

What did your wedding shoes look like? Did any of you where Christian louboutin’s?

Monday Morning Mix: Back to School Daze

Definitely a little in denial that it’s the second week of September- where did summer go!? With the arrival of Fall comes many things to look forward to though; the return of Fall TV (Gossip Girl!), fall Fashion shows, and the excitement of a fresh school year starting! Although it’s been some time that we’ve been able to partake in back to school shopping, I don’t think we’ll ever shake that Fall feeling. Plus, there’s nothing better than those first initial shopping trips to stock up on jeans and sweaters in Autumn! Below is an inspiration board in honor of  school daze starting again with a color palette of oxblood, navy, grass green, chalkboard, and of course touches of tartan. Check out the mix to get you through the first month of this bittersweet season.

Wedding Photo Wednesday!

Dad always thought he was one of the ladies; he just couldn’t resist getting in this all girls photo. Really our favorite part about this photo is that everyone seems to be unfazed by the shot gun, except for the poor flower girl that is…
